Photo Challenge - Lost & Found
It's easier than it sounds, don't worry! Capture images that evoke a sense of "Lost & Found." This could involve abandoned places, forgotten objects, or unexpected discoveries in unlikely locations.
I know I say this every time, but seriously, last week completely blew me away. I never expected such a massive response, but I’m loving it. I loved every single second of it.
This week we’re ramping it up with a theme that I personally love and am very excited about. Old things. I love old things. Old technology to be specific, but that’s beside the point. I love going through antiques and imagine what kind of history a particular item have and who owned it or bought it at one point, who made it, etc. I love a good mystery.
I suspect a few of you love that as well, so I figured we’d turn it into a challenge.
But before we get to the challenge, make sure to check out the winner of the last challenge and make sure to give everyone you like a subscribe and a follow!
Let’s also take a look Behind the Lens of one of our wonderful community members. This time, we’re taking a closer look at some of Leanna Julius’ favorite photos, and if you appreciate nature, you certainly won’t be disappointed this week either.
I’m a massive fan of, Leanna’s work and I know a lot of you are as well. If you don’t know about her, make sure to check her out and say hello.
Here’s How the Challenge Works:
Your photo must focus on “Lost & Found (as explained below)” - See examples below.
Entries not adhering to this theme will not be considered.
Originality and creativity are highly encouraged.
Post the photo on Notes by restacking this post (I’ll personally go through all submissions & bookmark them).
Please note: You can submit as many photos as you’d like, as long as they fit inside a single Restack of this post. Kindly do NOT Restack nine times for nine different photos, Restack only once for all photos you wish to submit. Any other Restacks will not be considered.
In your Note, tag @Patrik L so I can see it. If you’re unable to tag me or don’t know how, please leave a comment on this post saying you have restacked this post with your photo and I’ll have a look.
Please note that all submissions must be in a single restack. Multiple restacks with multiple submissions will not be accepted.
The photo should preferably be a new photo that you take for this challenge, it’s to invite creativity after all, but if you lack the time or resources to do so–an already available photo in your library will do.
Further information can be found in the guidelines below, these guidelines must be followed for the photo to be eligible.
For brownie points, tag friends or people you’d love to see participate in this challenge. The more the merrier!
If you’re new or unsure how to post a photo or tag me, please see the included GIF right below this message (note it may take a little while for it to load properly).
The themes and the challenges will differ, but may eventually circle back around if applicable. However, a theme can not be repeated for said challenge. So if you want to participate and do a mini photo challenge every other week I suggest you subscribe so you don’t miss a challenge.
Let’s have some fun!
Please pay attention to the guidelines below, these must be followed for the photo to be eligible.
The Challenge - Lost & Found
Theme: Lost & Found
About: This challenge might seem more challenging than it is, but it's surprisingly easy. I invite you to capture images that evoke the essence of "Lost & Found."
This could encompass abandoned places, forgotten objects, or unexpected discoveries in unlikely locations.
Consider scenes where nature is reclaiming its space. Picture an overgrown wall on an ancient castle or a neglected shed in someone's backyard, now obscured by greenery.
Perhaps, you'll find an object that has been forgotten, embraced by nature, slowly undergoing a process of reclamation.
Extend your exploration to include old technologies, like a forgotten Nintendo Gameboy in your drawer, an old VCR or VHS tapes, or an outdated TV set. In essence, focus on lost or old technology that many of us have stored away in a box or drawer, only to rediscover it years later.
Make this the moment you realize you possess something you haven't used in years, perhaps since your childhood. It can even be an old journal you wrote when you were 5 or an old pocket watch from your grandfather (obviously you don’t have to post any written content if it’s an old diary, or old photos of your family as these can be traced or recognized).
Thing is, it doesn’t matter as this is a journey into the past, rediscovering items that were once a significant part of your life, only to be set aside and forgotten until now.
Let’s bring something old back and put a shine on it with our lenses.
Be as creative as you can, it’s about having fun!
The object can be anything, but the focus must be on the theme Lost & Found as it is explained above.
This challenge is designed to encourage not only technical skill but also artistic expression in presenting Lost & Found.
Submissions will be judged based on creativity, composition, detail and how well you capture the object, place, person, animal or anything else it may be.
Only your imagination can limit you.
If you want some inspiration or get an idea of what the theme means, see the example below. Note, these are just examples that I’ve taken from Unsplash or other sources and does not necessarily reflect the challenge perfectly. It’s merely to give you an idea.

My whole house is full of old stuff. Like moreso than most people. All from my Grandparents and Great-grandparents and my childhood. How would I ever choose. Lol
Patrik, what is the number of photos permitted to “Lost & Found”?
