Photo Challenge - Vibrant
Capture the vibrant world around you and let your photos pop. We're still in the early days of the year, so make this the time to introduce more vibrancy into your life.
Last week’s challenge was a massive success in every way possible. So many beautiful and wonderful submissions! I hope to see close to the same amount of entries for this one, because I’m very curious to see what you can come up with for this one.
As I said last challenge, I have always loved stories. And I believe that we put an intention into any creative work we do. The real story however, is in the memories we freeze in a photo or in the thing we draw – that's the real story I want to emphasize with my Behind the Lens series.
That’s why, in case you missed it, I want to mention this weeks feature
This is where we get a more candid look at the stories behind some of his favorite photos, something I love to see.If you’ve missed it, go check out the second Behind the Lens feature with,
. I promise you won’t be disappointed! Here’s How the Challenge Works:
Your photo must focus on “Vibrant (as explained below)” - See examples below.
Entries not adhering to this theme will not be considered.
Originality and creativity are highly encouraged.
Post the photo on Notes by Restacking this post (I’ll personally go through all submissions & bookmark them - For bonus points, tag friends you think will excel in this challenge, the more the merrier).
In your Note, tag @PatrikL so I can see it. If you’re unable to tag me or don’t know how, please leave a comment on this post saying you have restacked this post with your photo and I’ll have a look.
The photo should preferably be a new photo that you take for this challenge, it’s to invite creativity after all, but if you lack the time or resources to do so–an already available photo in your library will do.
Further information can be found in the guidelines below, these guidelines must be followed for the photo to be eligible.
For brownie points, tag friends or people you’d love to see participate in this challenge. The more the merrier!
The themes and the challenges will differ, but may eventually circle back around if applicable. However, a theme can not be repeated for said challenge. So if you want to participate and do a mini photo challenge every other week I suggest you subscribe so you don’t miss a challenge.
Let’s have some fun!
Please pay attention to the guidelines below, these must be followed for the photo to be eligible.
The Challenge - Vibrant
Theme: Vibrant
About: Vibrant is not just a word; it's a palette of colo(u)rs and possibilities as seen through your lens. It’s about capturing the dynamic interplay of colo(u)rs and bringing your subjects to life in a colo(u)rful and vibrant way – one that makes them pop.
I know Christmas and the holidays are over, but we’re still at the beginning of a new year, making it perfect to introduce a world of colo(u)rs into our lives.
It can be a colo(u)ring book, vibrant clothes, the green trees against the white backdrop of winter, or the diverse hues of ordinary life. Let your photo radiate with vibrancy and tell a story that pops out of the world around it.
Winter can be very muted in terms of vibrancy, making it the perfect time of the year to introduce it into a photo challenge. Especially if we think back to Christmas or the holidays when everything feels warm and lovely in comparison to the darker and more saturated world outside.
If you’re in a warmer climate, such as down under, you’re not battling snowstorms or heavy snowfall or downpours of rain in January/February as I am. You have nature on your side, so show the vibrant landscapes or beautiful, vibrant summer clothes instead.
Be as creative as you can, it’s about having fun!
The object can be anything, but the focus must be on the theme Vibrant as it is explained above.
This challenge is designed to encourage not only technical skill but also artistic expression in presenting Vibrant.
Submissions will be judged based on creativity, composition, detail and how well you capture the object, place, person, animal or anything else it may be.
Only your imagination can limit you.
If you want some inspiration or get an idea of what the theme means, see the example below. Note, these are just examples that I’ve taken from Unsplash or other sources and does not necessarily reflect the challenge perfectly. It’s merely to give you an idea.

Alright I'm on it!!!!! Great theme!
Patrik can you clarify the rules on multiple photos submitted by the one photographer? I've seen submissions where there are 3-4 in a post that you've accepted, but I've also seen you say (I think) that you can't submit more than one entry, so I'm confused. Do they just have to all be in a single post? And do you consider each photo in the post individually in that case? Apologies if you've addressed this somewhere already, I couldn't find anything in the guidelines. Thank you!
