Winner of Photo Challenge - Snapshot
I want to apologize to everyone for not being responsive this week, but a lot of things have been going on which rendered me unable to be as active as I've wanted.
To begin, I want to apologize for not being as interactive or responsive as I’ve wanted to be this week. A lot of personal things have happened that have required my full attention, including yesterday, which is why I never sent out a challenge closed note.
Everything’s alright and everything’s much better than I could’ve anticipated so it’s all good.
However, this week I’m not choosing the winner. A woman who is very dear to me picked this week’s winner and I’m honestly very happy with the result.
Please note that I’ve decided to streamline these winning posts a bit more, so my summaries or thoughts about the photos will be shorter from now on. This is to make the posts more readable as I know most of you are here for the photos and not my writing, which is understandable.
*IMPORTANT NOTE: This post is obviously too long for emails according to Substack, so if you want to see the post in its entirety I suggest you read it on either the Substack App or website. I highly recommend using your desktop to view it, all these submissions deserve it!
Next challenge is - September 15.
The Winner -
There’s something about this photo that not only captured my eyes, but also the eyes of a woman who’s very dear to me, so I let her pick the winner this week as she clearly shows she’s got an eye for detail and talent.
Sara’s photo is nothing short of fantastic and I couldn’t be happier about it, mostly because I would’ve chosen the exact same photo as the winner this week. It has something special and I absolutely love everything it.
Check out all the other wonderful and beautiful photos, Sara submitted this week.
They’re all incredible and have something special about them.
Make sure to toss Sara a follow on Instagram, I guarantee you’ll find quite a bit of beautiful photos there and she deserves a larger audience than she currently has.
Thank you for submitting this absolutely wonderful photo, Sara.
Do not forget to subscribe to Sara and her Substack - Sara’s Lenses, while you’re at it. You’ll love her publication if you’re into photography and there’s a lot of stunning photos.
Honorable Mentions
Choosing the winner and runner-ups for this challenge is never easy, especially not when there’s so many submissions. There are so many incredible and worthy winners this week as it is every week!
These honorable mentions are all winners, along with every single photo this week, but these ones had something special about them that I’m positive you’ll love as well.
The runner-ups for this challenge are;

’s photo this week is stunning. I love the distance and I love the silhouette and shadow, simply a beautiful photo.
Flavio is a travel photographer who has visited 39 countries so far! He’s an Italian living in Budapest, Hungary where he is a chemist. Flavio likes to combine volunteering, photography and traveling, his Substack, I only take pics is about that.
I highly recommend you toss his Instagram a follow, he’s got a beautiful grid and if I had personally had an Instagram, I’d be spending far too much time browsing Flavio’s grid.
Make sure to check out Flavio’s Substack, I only take pics. You won’t regret it if you’re a fan of a lot more beautiful photos from around the world. Flavio is a travel blogger and photographer so I guarantee you’ll find some awesome photos on his Substack.
’s photo is a true snapshot and I love it. The mood, the location, the subject and the lighting, everything is fantastic.
Stunning work, Jonah!
Jonah is a frequent participant in these challenges and a very talented photographer as a whole. It’s always a pleasure seeing the submissions from
Jonah doesn’t seem to have a Substack publication, at least not that I can find, but considering his usual absolutely beautiful photos he submits, I’m kind of hoping for a photo Substack to come. Jonah, if you decide to launch a publication, let me know so I can update this section!
’s photo is gorgeous, full of life, adorable and simply stunning. I love everything about it.
Raed is a PhD student at the University of Melbourne and clearly a very talented photographer to boot.
You can follow Raed on Instagram, but keep in mind that his Instagram is currently Private so you may need to request access to see all his beautiful photos. If I had used Instagram, I would’ve requested access in a heartbeat, especially if his work there is as stunning as the ones he submits for these challenges.
Make sure to check out Raed’s Substack, aptly named Raed’s Substack. There isn’t a lot of content there yet, but I’m hoping to see much more from him moving forward as I personally love learning and reading about the Quran. So if you’re like me, I highly recommend you subscribe to Raed.
submitted this beautiful photo and there’s something so cute, aesthetic and beautiful about it all at the same time, I just had to include it in the top.
Such a beautiful photo of a very beautiful family!
Kym is a frequent participator and a very talented photographer, unfortunately I couldn’t find anything to share except her Substack, but in many ways that is more than enough.
Thank you for being a frequent participator in these challenges, Kym!
Do not forget to subscribe to Kym VdP and her Substack - Capturing Beauty, you really won’t regret it if you’re into beautiful photos and words.
comes in with this stunning photo as her first participation in these challenges and she does it with a stunning snapshot of two people in a canoe.
Stunning.
For a first time participator, elissa kills it with this submission. She also seem to be fairly new to Substack, so make sure to show her note some love.
elissa doesn’t seem to have a Substack publication, at least not that I can find, but I hope to see one soon! elissa, keep me updated if you launch one and I will update this section.
As always, I feature up to five runner-ups plus a winner. But, as there’s so many absolutely fantastic photos, I want to give a quick shout-out to as many as I possibly can.
Each week, I select my absolute favorite submissions for feature, accompanied by a well-deserved shout-out. For everyone else, a link to their submission will be provided. This way, I can showcase the best while ensuring all contributors receive the recognition they deserve.
This week I’ll showcase and shout six more of my favorite submissions.
I hope to see all of you and many more in future challenges!
Photos show up in this order:
Thank you everyone who’s subscribed, followed, participated or just engaged in any way, you’re all awesome!
Here are all the other submissions I received this week, in no particular order, so make sure to check them out, leave a like and a comment, and who knows, maybe you’ll find someone to follow or subscribe to while you’re at it!
