Winner of Photo Challenge Week 8 - Halloween/Spooky/Spoopy
Halloween is closing in rapidly and I wanted to get to it as early as possible in October as I know people will be busy with decorating and other spooky activities.
Halloween has never been big in Sweden, but more and more children seem to do trick or treating rounds these years compared to what they used to which is fun to see.
Halloween is a massive event in the good ol’ US of A, but not so big in the rest of the world. But I figured it could be fun to see everyone’s perspective on what the theme Halloween/Spooky/Spoopy was for them and to see how everyone interpreted the theme on a personal level, and boy was I right!
The submissions that came in were all incredible and hauntingly beautiful! Every single submission were perfect and all worthy winners in their own right.
Yet again, engagement, views and submissions has been low. To remedy this, I’m doing exactly the same thing I did last challenge! Because choosing a winner is never easy, especially not with such a low number of participants, so I’m featuring everyone again because it is more than deserved!
*IMPORTANT NOTE: This post is apparently too long for emails according to Substack, so if you want to see the post in its entirety I suggest you read it on either the Substack App or website.
The next challenge will be posted October 25.
The Winner -
Georgia’s submission has an atmosphere to it that just make it feel ethereal the moment you look at it. Almost like there’s a mystery to be unraveled there, a mystery to take a closer look at.
Georgia’s fine art photography skills along with some elements of the romanticism from boudoir shoots plus her interest in fantasy photography really make their play in this photo. It’s ethereal, haunted, romantic and fantasy like at the same time. It has elements of everything.
Considering the fact Georgia didn’t have more than 5-10 minutes to snap this gorgeous photo, just makes it even better.
Amazing work through and through! So happy to see you being a part of this challenge Georgia!
While you’re at it, head on over to the Note itself and leave a like and comment and make sure to give Georgia a follow and subscription.

Honorable Mentions
I felt it wouldn’t be fair to exclude someone this time either due to the amounts of participants, so I’ve decided to honor every participant the same this week.
This time we have
, , and with their incredible photos!Kerani hits it out of the park with her stunning photo. The composition is fantastic, colors incredible and perfect contrast with the black and white witch theme. The props in all their simplicity just adds a whole new layer to it to complete it. It’s a gorgeous photo in every regard. Stunning work Kerani, simply stunning!

Haley, is back (you love to see it just as much as I do, she never disappoints with her gorgeous submissions)! This time with a gorgeously haunted relaxing photo. There’s an eerie atmosphere here with the smoke from the fire under that cast iron clawfoot cauldron that just adds a whole new layer to complete the photo.
Stunning work as always Haley!

Lizzie, comes in out with this hauntingly beautiful photo of shadows cast during the eclipse that hit a few days ago. The intensity of the shadows makes the ground almost look like clouds that’s settled on the ground. Eerie and beautiful.
Beautiful work Lizzie, simply beautiful! Thank you for being a part of this challenge, I can’t wait to see what else you have for us moving forward!
Lizzie has also been kind enough to share some of her restorative yoga practices with us over on her website, so I highly recommend you check them out. I’ve had a quick browse through a couple of the videos and I really need to give them a try.
Do not forget to subscribe to Lizzie, she deserves it. She is, in her own words, a mom of two boys, a decaf coffee drinker, a restorative yoga teacher, a dabbler in watercolors, a writer, and an unapologetic romantic. You’ll love her!
Charlene, sneaks in with this hauntingly beautiful photo of a spooky looking tree. The twists and turns of the roots in combination with the flowing shapes makes it look almost like a haunting creature that’s been petrified. Beautiful photo Charlene! I’m happy to see you participating and I hope to see more from you moving forward!
Charlene is an author, having written a memoir on finding your own way. I may not be a big reader, ironic considering I love to write I know, but I do enjoy a good memoir every now and then and Charlene’s book is now on my shortlist. So make sure to check it out while you’re at it!
Do not forget to subscribe to Charlene, she deserves it. She is, in her own words, working on being her own biggest fan and cutting herself some slack. Something we should all strive for. You’ll love her!
Again, thank you everyone who’s participated in this challenge! It’s been so much fun seeing everyones submissions! I hope everyone who participated in this challenge joins in future challenges as well.
I hope to see all of you and many more in the future!
Thank you everyone who’s subscribed, followed, participated or just engaged, you’re all awesome!
