Photo Challenge - Spring
To finish off another season of Photo Challenges, we're going to finish off Spring with it as well! That's right, for this final Photo Challenge of season one, we're focusing on spring.
Last week’s challenge was very interesting, I don’t believe I’ve enjoyed a challenge quite as much as I did with that one. Seeing so many passion projects and the diversity behind them brought a big smile to my face.
However, this week it’s time for another challenge and for this one the theme and focus is Spring. This means that I want to see what spring means to you. Is it the flowers? The greenery? The trees? The animals? Maybe it’s the infamous April weather?
Or anything else that spring might mean to you.
However, if you’re in Australia or the part of the world we consider ‘down under’, I know winter is creeping up on you and spring is since long over, so you can decide.
You can either submit already snapped photos of spring, or you can submit what you believe Australian winter represents. The choice is yours.
I think it could be a fun mix seeing how most of the world enjoy spring and people from ‘down under’ enjoy winter at the same time.
Spring and winter do go hand in hand after all and intermingles quite a lot, especially in the northern parts of the world.
Remember, it’s about having fun and being creative. So be as creative as you can while having as much fun as you can.
As always, before we get to the challenge, make sure to check out the winner of the last challenge and make sure to give everyone you like a subscribe and a follow!
In this week’s issue of Behind the Lens we’re taking a look at Bryn Robinson and her favorite photos. Bryn’s approach is about growth and the present, which I honestly love to see!
If you’re curious, make sure to head on over to the post and say hello to Bryn!
*IMPORTANT NOTE: This challenge marks the end for these challenges for about a month, but don’t worry, these challenges will come back in June of 2024 again! I’m taking May off due to various things happening and going on so I can fully focus on that.
Here’s How the Challenge Works:
Your photo must focus on “Spring (as explained below)” - See examples below.
Entries not adhering to this theme will not be considered.
Originality and creativity are highly encouraged.
Post the photo on Notes by restacking this post (I’ll personally go through all submissions & bookmark them).
Please note: You can submit as many photos as you’d like, as long as they fit inside a single Restack of this post. Kindly do NOT Restack nine times for nine different photos, Restack only once for all photos you wish to submit. Any other Restacks will not be considered.
In your Note, tag @Patrik L so I can see it. If you’re unable to tag me or don’t know how, please leave a comment on this post saying you have restacked this post with your photo and I’ll have a look.
Please note that all submissions must be in a single restack. Multiple restacks with multiple submissions will not be accepted.
The photo should preferably be a new photo that you take for this challenge, it’s to invite creativity after all, but if you lack the time or resources to do so–an already available photo in your library will do.
Further information can be found in the guidelines below, these guidelines must be followed for the photo to be eligible.
For brownie points, tag friends or people you’d love to see participate in this challenge. The more the merrier!
If you’re new or unsure how to post a photo or tag me, please see the included GIF right below this message (note it may take a little while for it to load properly).
The themes and the challenges will differ, but may eventually circle back around if applicable. However, a theme can not be repeated for said challenge. So if you want to participate and do a mini photo challenge every other week I suggest you subscribe so you don’t miss a challenge.
Let’s have some fun!
Please pay attention to the guidelines below, these must be followed for the photo to be eligible.
The Challenge - Spring
Theme: Spring
About: This week, we're inviting you to participate in a Spring-themed photo challenge. The focus is on capturing the essence of Spring in your photographs.
Whether it's the blooming flowers, verdant greenery, budding trees, or the lively presence of animals, show us what Spring means to you.
If you're in the southern hemisphere, particularly in Australia or other regions where winter is making its presence felt, you're not left out of the fun!
You're encouraged to submit photos that reflect the essence of Australian winter.
Whether it's the cozy evenings by the fire, the misty mornings, or the rugged landscapes covered in a dusting of snow, share your perspective on winter down under.
I personally feel it would be an interesting contrast to see how different parts of the world experience these two seasons simultaneously.
So, whether it's Spring in the majority of the world or Winter down under, your submissions are welcome as we explore the unique beauty of each season in different parts of the world.
*I know a lot of you already have photos ready for this challenge, but I'd still like to invite you to a fun creativity challenge and snap a new photo instead as it's meant to invite creativity. It doesn’t need to be professional or perfect, it’s about being creative, so let’s be extra creative and have some fun this week by sharing projects that makes us or others happy.*
Be as creative as you can, it’s about having fun!
The object can be anything, but the focus must be on the theme Spring as it is explained above.
This challenge is designed to encourage not only technical skill but also artistic expression in presenting something that represent Spring.
Submissions will be judged based on creativity, composition, detail and how well you capture the object, place, person, animal or anything else it may be.
Only your imagination can limit you.
If you want some inspiration or get an idea of what the theme means, see the examples below. Note, these are just examples that I’ve taken from Unsplash or other sources and does not necessarily reflect the challenge perfectly. It’s merely to give you an idea.

"I come from a land Down Under," the man sang.
Right now, in front of me, I hear and feel Winter slowly approaching on icy cold feet.
And turning to look behind me, I see Autumn rustle broken brown leaves as it walks away.
Spring is a distant memory, crouched and hidden, waiting below the horizon in the warm morning sun.
Then I ask myself - "How do I manifest those words in a photograph?"
And thusly, Challenge accepted 😊
… and I forgot to tag Patrick. That’s why I prefer to do this on a real computer. 😕
