Photo Challenge - Break Time
Capture and share the essence of your personal break time rituals, showcasing what helps you relax, rejuvenate, and find a moment of peace.
Last challenge was interesting, low entries but very beautiful photos as always. The low numbers were expected and kind of relieving as I’m busier than ever, so I am very grateful for the low number of entires. Made things a lot easier to keep track of everything.
But, today it is time for a new challenge!
This week we’re doing a small photo challenge about what “break time” means to you. It can be a cup of tea or coffee, a bath, a drink, a glass of wine, a place, a person or anything else that you enjoy doing when you’re on a break from normal day-to-day obligations.
So for this challenge I want to see how you spend your breaks.
Remember, it’s about having fun and being creative. So be as creative as you can while having as much fun as you can.
As always, before we get to the challenge, make sure to check out the winner of the last challenge and make sure to give everyone you like a subscribe and a follow!
*IMPORTANT NOTE: Changes have been made with how the challenges are run and why. Read all about the changes here.
Here’s How the Challenge Works:
Your photo must focus on “Break Time (as explained below)” - See examples below.
Entries not adhering to this theme will not be considered.
Originality and creativity are highly encouraged.
Post the photo on Notes by restacking this post (I’ll personally go through all submissions & bookmark them).
Please note: You can submit as many photos as you’d like, as long as they fit inside a single Restack of this post. Kindly do NOT Restack nine times for nine different photos, Restack only once for all photos you wish to submit. Any other Restacks will not be considered.
In your Note, tag @Patrik L so I can see it. If you’re unable to tag me or don’t know how, please leave a comment on this post saying you have restacked this post with your photo and I’ll have a look.
Please note that all submissions must be in a single restack. Multiple restacks with multiple submissions will not be accepted.
The photo should preferably be a new photo that you take for this challenge, it’s to invite creativity after all, but if you lack the time or resources to do so–an already available photo in your library will do.
Further information can be found in the guidelines below, these guidelines must be followed for the photo to be eligible.
For brownie points, tag friends or people you’d love to see participate in this challenge. The more the merrier!
If you’re new or unsure how to post a photo or tag me, please see the included GIF right below this message (note it may take a little while for it to load properly).
The themes and the challenges will differ, but may eventually circle back around if applicable. However, a theme can not be repeated for said challenge. So if you want to participate and do a mini photo challenge every other week I suggest you subscribe so you don’t miss a challenge.
Let’s have some fun!
Please pay attention to the guidelines below, these must be followed for the photo to be eligible.
The Challenge - Break Time
Theme: Break Time
About: This weeks photo challenge is centered around the theme of "Break Time". I want to see how you unwind and recharge during those precious moments when you step away from your daily obligations.
Capture and share the essence of your personal break time rituals, showcasing what helps you relax, rejuvenate, and find a moment of peace.
Interpret "Break Time" in a way that resonates with you personally. Think about what activities, places, or moments give you a sense of relief from your regular routine.
Here’s a few examples of what a “Break Time” photo could be.
A cup of tea or coffee: Show your favorite mug, the steam rising from a freshly brewed cup, or the cozy nook where you enjoy it.
A bath: Capture the serene atmosphere of your bath time, whether it's the bubbles, candles, or the book you read while soaking.
A drink: Whether it’s a refreshing smoothie, a classic cocktail, or a simple glass of water, show us how you enjoy a beverage break.
A glass of wine: Photograph the ambiance of your wine time, be it a glass in your hand while watching the sunset or the bottle and glass setup.
A cigarette/cigar: You enjoy a small smoke break once in a while? Why not snap a photo of the view you enjoy or the pack of cigarettes or possibly the box of cigars.
A place: It could be your favorite park bench, a quiet corner of your home, or any other spot where you love to take a break. Even your workplace break area. Whatever the place may be, show it.
A person: Maybe your break time is best spent with someone special. Capture the essence of that companionship.
Anything else: Whatever break time means to you, we want to see it. Whether it’s a hobby, a pet, a book, or a quick nap, share your unique perspective.
Ideally, I’d love to see a wide range of fun and interesting break time activities, but whatever you’ll submit, I want to see.
*I know a lot of you already have photos ready for this challenge, but I'd still like to invite you to a fun creativity challenge and snap a new photo instead as it's meant to invite creativity. It doesn’t need to be professional or perfect, it’s about being creative, so let’s be extra creative and have some fun this week by sharing projects that makes us or others happy.*
Be as creative as you can, it’s about having fun!
The object can be anything, but the focus must be on the theme Break Time as it is explained above.
This challenge is designed to encourage not only technical skill but also artistic expression in presenting something that represent Break Time.
Submissions will be judged based on creativity, composition, detail and how well you capture the object, place, person, animal or anything else it may be.
Only your imagination can limit you.
If you want some inspiration or get an idea of what the theme means, see the examples below. Note, these are just examples that I’ve taken from Unsplash or other sources and does not necessarily reflect the challenge perfectly. It’s merely to give you an idea.
